Pre and Post Release for Women Offenders

Pre-release program provides services within the jail and work center facilities and provides the following: weekly case management, weekly mental health counseling, partnerships with legal contacts, wrap around services. Educational programming consists of moral reconation therapy (MRT), MRT - Anger Management, MRT - Trauma, SAMHSA Anger Management, Houses of Healing, Relapse prevention, 12 Steps A Way Out and Recovery Management. Post-release programming includes transitional housing support (at no cost to clients) as well as: weekly case management, weekly CPRS meetings, weekly mental health appointments, one recovery meeting every day for first 30 days, educational programming for first 30-45 days of 6-12 months, medical care with appointments for medications, employment navigation, including transportation, case management for vital documents and needs, weekly random drug screens, and housing assistance (personal finance classes, housing applications, referrals to proper agencies for rental assistance at month 9 in the program). Treatment programming consists of Process group led by LPC/MSW, MRT, Individual counseling, Recovery skills led by CPRS, Self care planning and implementation, Music therapy, Occupational therapy, Fitness classes, Nutrition and Cooking classes, Criminal and Addictive Thinking classes, Codependency Classes.

Program Population

Women who are incarcerated, women who have been incarcerated (most post-release clients come from jails across the state), women with mental health and substance abuse issues (co-occurring disorders).

Program Capacity

75-100 women per year, 32 bed capacity for post-release program.
